January 20, 1942:  The Wannsee Conference

Fifteen high ranking members of the Nazi party and Senior officers of the Wehrmacht gathered in a small town outside Berlin to discuss "The Final Solution of the Jewish Question" or the systematic destruction, annihilation and murder of European Jews. Taking the initiative of this meeting was SS General Reinhard Heydrich along with Adolf Eichmann, Chief of Jewish Affairs.  The men discussed the establishment of the Theresienstadt camp-ghetto, slave labor for “able bodied Jews,” and mass deportations to death camps.
